As a wedding photographer, I have seen A LOT of Blush bridesmaids dresses in my day. Anything from Dusty Rose to Rose Quartz to Blush. There are even a Sand Rose and just plain pink! With so many color options it can be REALLY easy to get overwhelmed with the slightest offset in color. I know this is true for me every time I try to find a “grey” paint color for my house! There are about a million grey paints out there!
I wanted to share a few ideas and inspiration images with you that I’ve seen from my lovely bridesmaids who’ve worn every blush color under the sun! Speaking of sun, I’ve also been asked several times if my style looks good in blush and OHH YESS GIRL it looks amazing! Why, because it’s light and bright and that beautiful golden light passes straight through the images making it just perfect for my editing style!
Gone are the days where each dress had to match just perfectly. Mixing up your ladies’ fabrics creates dimension and visual interest. This is something that will draw your eye when looking back through your images. You can choose chiffon, satin, mesh, and my new 2019 on-trend favorite velvet!
Adding complementary shades of blush looks FANTASTIC in your photos! Most would assume that it won’t look right and not to mention, I’m sure you’re probably stressin’ like crazy trying to find “the perfect” color. So why not mix it up with soft varying shades of that pink you love so much! Take this photo for example. I fell in love with Jazzy’s bridesmaid’s dresses in varying shades and styles and when I asked the maid of honor where they all came from, she replied, ‘EVERYWHERE!’ Not even from the same designer! One was even her sister’s prom dress from 5 YEARS AGO! Umm, ok GENIUS! Guess what? They work great and look fantastic!
This can be one of the easiest ways to spice up that dusty rose you love so much. I particularly love this idea because if you or one of your bridesmaids has a large bust, you are not stuck with a dress that doesn’t work with your body type. I know this from experience! The end result is a flattering style on every body type!
Here are a few of my favorite places to shop for bridesmaids dresses!
