A Temecula, California Wedding

Let me start off this post with a little backstory. I was sitting at Avensole Winery having some lunch, minding my own business, when I looked over and saw this giant wedding ring staring me in the face! Now, I’m not one to randomly say thoughts out loud… oh, wait, yes I am. I looked over at this beautiful blonde next to me and said: “OH MY GOSH YOUR RING IS HUGE….. and so PRETTY!” She looked over at me and politely said “thank you” as she continued showing off her new ring to one of her best friends that worked there. Looking back, I totally butted into their conversation but we got to chatting, and I found out that she was JUST recently engaged! What usually happens after someone tells a Wedding Photographer they are newly engaged? Yep, you guessed it- we talked about photography! I also found out that Sarah owns a lash studio and I was desperately looking to find someone new to do my lashes. We exchanged information and a few weeks later I made an appointment to have her do my lashes. I was hooked! Sarah is so good at what she does! I ended up seeing her every three weeks and learning all about her and her fiance during my appointments. She ended up asking me if I would be her wedding photographer a few months later and I was thrilled to say yes!

This past weekend was their wedding, and even though there was a 90% chance of heavy rain, there was no sign of worry from Sarah. She was still her happy, laid-back self and didn’t seem worried one bit! It did rain on her wedding day and not only that, it POURED up until the very moment she walked down the aisle with her dad. It was an amazing site. There was even a peek of sunshine to finish up the ceremony.

Sarah brought two wedding dresses with her, both very different yet gorgeous. This ended up being a great thing because she actually ended up ripping the first one by stepping on it! OOPS! We ended up photographing their portraits in her second gown, and they could not have been more perfect.

All in all -rain or shine- it was a beautiful day! One of the things I love most about photographing rainy day weddings is that every wedding vendor has to be on top of their game. We have a lot of little things to overcome to make the day perfect, but we get it done beautifully. So if you happen to have a rainy day wedding, know that your professional wedding team is there for you and it can still be just as perfect as you imagined it to be!

Cheers!
