Recently, we hosted some long time friends who also happen to be amazing wedding photographers ( WASIO Photography) at my home here in Temecula. When the festivities of the week came to a close, I found my heart overfilling with love for these sweetly supportive friends of mine; and a freshly lit creative fire blazing in my soul. Even though our styles vary greatly and our creative processes are completely different, I found myself learning so much and sharing so many wonderful moments from my years as a professional photographer.

I have found there is such strength in community. Surrounding yourself with a tribe of supportive fellow creatives is such a vital process when it comes to thriving in an industry such as this. John and I are so lucky to belong to such a tight-knit group of friends as the Rising Tide Society, who have truly cultivated an atmosphere of community over competition. I feel as though the ability to be an open book, unencumbered by fear of judgement or scrutiny, whilst in the company of this group has become a necessary element of my creative process.

If you are a fellow creative, I implore you to find a group of people who you can call your tribe. This past week has been such a eyeopner for all of us. We truly enjoyed all of our time fueling one anothers creative powerhouse. People who you can call on in times of needed inspiration. Fill your tribe with people of all sorts of mindsets and styles. Variety is the spice of life. Pull from each others experiences, successes and failures. Learn and grow together. Embrace a loving fellowship built on community, support and most of all…friendship.
