Brett and Julie, what can I say other than, you guys are incredible and I’m so happy the stars aligned the way they did so we could photograph your wedding day! You’re both individually unique and amazing people and I’m so grateful to be part of your day. Enough gushing, let’s tell the story, shall we?

We first met Brett and Julie when we photographed Julie’s sister, Elizabeth’s wedding a year ago.  We had a great time meeting the family and it’s easy to see that Brett loved the dance floor just as much then as he does now. A few months later, Julie called us up to announce that she and Brett were getting married and they wanted us to photograph their day! I was beyond thrilled because we had such a great time meeting them a few months prior and we knew their wedding would be a blast.

They had their ceremony and reception at Shadowridge Golf Club, a beautiful, private country club in Vista, CA. The ceremony location was nestled on a hilltop between the 10^th green and the 11^th tee.  It was surrounded by blooming bougainvillea flower bushes, large boulders and tall trees that made the space feel private and very intimate. Since Shadowridge is a private club, there wasn’t a lot of player traffic, so after the ceremony, we were able to take Brett and Julie out onto the golf course for some romantic portraits of the two of them during sunset.

The reception was very lively (as expected) and everyone had a fantastic time dancing the night away. I have to add, with all the weddings I’ve been to, their cake cutting was one of the most entertaining I’ve ever seen. The whole room was laughing hysterically, including myself and John.

After we packed up our equipment for the night, Brett and Julie insisted that we stay for a bit and unwind. This isn’t normally something we do, but this was a special case involving special people.  We enjoyed a few dances with Julie, Brett and the rest of their outstanding group of friends until it was finally time to go. It’s always hard to say goodbye, but we said our final congratulations to them and their parents before loading up and driving off.
