I feel one of the most important aspects of your business is your branding. Down to your logo choice and your client packing, Every little detail matters. In my early years as a photographer, I didn’t have a definitive style. Therefore I couldn’t truly define my brand. Fast forward five years later and I am 100% clear on what I want my brand to look like and represent. I think this is a struggle for many photographers. I have totally been there! The thing is, we are constantly evolving in our business as creatives. I have been thorough about 5 different logos and various ideas of what I thought I wanted my branding and packaging to look like. One day about a year ago I had a bit of an AH-Ha moment. I looked around my house and thought; what are my trending colors and tones? What did I gravitate to in my decor and personal taste? The answer was literally all around me every single day! From the beginning, I always liked beautiful pastel images like soft pinks, muted blues, and grays. My home is filled with white furniture and light, pale blue walls. I have hints of dark gray flooring throughout. Our brands are so much a part of us in our everyday life sometimes you just have to look right in front of you to see what defines you and your brand.
I know this was a bit of a rant on branding when I’m here to show you a client order, but I feel it’s a necessary part of your branding journey that often gets overlooked. It can be so hard when I see a fellow photographer use dark, moody colors and it rocks! But at the end of the day, I just stay true to what I naturally love and gravitate to. Pick three words that describe your style and try to stick to them no matter how hard it is to want to stray. For me, those words are AIRY, ROMANTIC, and GENUINE. If I don’t see it in my work, it’s not what I will put out to the world.
Now, let’s take a look at this client’s recent order! It is so pretty! I got the rose gold Custom USB’s that were PERFECT for completing my branding colors and recycled paper boxes from Photo Flash Drives and This gorgeous album from Millers Lab in linen. Linen is also another item that I feel strongly with my branding process. There is something so organic and timeless about it. It is the perfect completion to continue on my signature brand in my client’s homes as a lasting heirloom. Enjoy! Feel free to comment with any questions on product purchasing!
