Your wedding day is one of the most memorable days of your life. All the planning and details you’ve been perfecting over the past months finally come to fruition. It’s time to relax and enjoy the big day! Photos are a big part of commemorating your big event. A tangible way to look back on your beautiful day for years to come. Working with brides, I’ve noticed the top 5 things brides forget on their wedding day in the hustle and bustle of day’s events. Below I’ve listed five of the top things that are often overlooked. Take a peek so that you can be prepared when your big day comes around.

Top 5 things brides forget on their wedding day

1. Invitations

Once you send out the invites and count up all your responses, they’ve served their purpose, right? Wrong! You spent a lot of time, money, and effort putting together those invitations, and you’ll want to have photos of them as a keepsake. Be sure to pack an invite or two so your photographer can document the formal invitation that gives a nice little summary of your day! We all know how much I love photographing invites! How can I resist? They are fun to style and I always find some useful pretty around the room to show them off even better! Check out THIS post in bringing your invite to your wedding.

2. Guestbook

Some brides forget to make one altogether, and some make or buy one and forget to bring it to the venue. It’s a small detail, but something you’ll want as a keepsake and memory of all your friends and family that helped to make your day so special!

3. Wedding license

This is a big one! Most brides remember to go get their wedding license at the courthouse in the days before their wedding, but it’s also important to BRING the document with you! It will need to be signed by the officiant and a witness to make your vows legally binding.

4. Wedding bands

Traditionally, the best man holds the rings for the ceremony. However, you will want pictures with your ring on while getting ready, and for some individual portraits (or couples ones if you do a first look)! Make sure you hang onto your ring or keep it in the bridal suite leading up to the ceremony.

5. Forgetting to eat

Seriously! You would be surprised how many of my brides forget to eat! I know it can be busy and stressful and your nerves are all over the place, but make time to have a small snack at least. Nobody wants to be irritable or have a growling stomach while saying their vows! Or worse yet, we all know we like to have a few cocktails to get rid of wedding day jitters, you could be paying for those mimosas later on if you don’t have anything in your stomach.

I hope these commonly forgotten things are put at the top of your list so that you can avoid some of the minor missteps of other brides. They are small details that make a big difference. But above all else, relax and enjoy your big day!

  1. This is so true. I got married last September and I recall the Wedding manager coming over to ask me if I had eaten, of course, I said “no, not yet” and he urged me to go get a bite to eat, bless him. lol.

  2. Marina says:

THAT is so true! I remember my sister had the same kind of problem for her wedding. She did everything by herself and she forgot to eat all the time. She ended up getting sick after the wedding.. This is a good post reminder!

  3. Nay says:

I was exactly the same! I didn’t eat all day and by the evening felt absolutely awful!
