I have to pinch myself as I write this post because sometimes it’s still hard to believe that my bestie is going to be a momma! Sasha and Yaneck came into our lives when they made the long trip from Chicago and relocated their entire established wedding business to pursue their dream of living in sunny Southern California. We became best of friends instantly! We invited them to stay in our home for two weeks while their live-work loft in Downtown San Diego was being prepped for them. You know when you have house guests, and by the end of week 1, you secretly wish you could have your home back to normal? Well… this was NOT the case for us! We shared so many late night chats about the in’s and outs of our businesses, played with all of Yanecks’s gadgets and even threw in a few winery trips!
On one day, in particular, I told Sasha when she got pregnant I would throw her the most epic baby shower EVER. Fast forward a few months later, and we find out that Sasha is EXPECTING! This is HUGE because they having been wanting to grow their little family of 4 (2 fur babies included) for quite some time now. With the middle of wedding season coming into full swing for both of us, I knew we would have a challenge working this in on a weekend and have all of our wedding pro friends attend! This is where our dear friend Amy, at Lift Consulting came in! I inquired about pricing for the venue she works with at Ventana restaurant in Escondido, and she happened to mention some of her ideas she had for an upcoming shoot she wanted to do. Her theme fit PERFECTLY for a baby shower!!! Also, this is not something I have seen done before, so I was all in! Amy knows and adores Sasha just as much as I do, so the amount of love that we would both put into her shower was going to be AWESOME. I have a pretty hard time keeping secrets, but I did my best only to tell her to dress in a Kentucky derby fashion for the day.
When Sasha and her hubby walked in they had NO IDEA how EPIC The Centre was going to be set up! Amy and her team went all out! Vintage teacups and saucers and perfectly pressed linens were on every table. The main table for mom and dad had custom laser cut signs with mom and dad perfectly carved out for them along with their names on each of their place setting. We held a 10:00am brunch with some of the best cinnamon rolls from Cute Cakes Bakery. Sasha don’t hate me for this, but I think I saw her eat 3 or 4 of those? It’s ok, they were worth EVERY-SINGLE-BITE! I know how much her sweet tooth is making an appearance during her pregnancy!
Everything came together perfectly, and no detail was left out. The grass hedges and the incredible florals really put the final touches on such a beautiful morning spent with 2 of my favorite people.
Congratulations to you both and we can not wait to welcome baby Wasio into the world. You are going to be amazing parents!
I want to personally extend a huge thank you to all the talented vendors who made this day possible and your hard work and talent really made this day special for all of us!
